The Populi Center, a non-profit policy and public opinion research institute, conducted a survey in DKI Jakarta Province from 9 to 16 October 2022 with a sample of respondents spread proportionally in 60 sub-districts in DKI Jakarta Province. The purpose of this survey is to find out the public's perception of development dynamics, provincial government performance, and political dynamics in DKI Jakarta Province.
The data collection method in this survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 600 respondents who were selected using a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error (MoE) of ± 4.00 percent and a 95 percent confidence level. The face-to-face interview process was carried out using the Populi Center survey application. The survey was conducted using internal funding.
There are several interesting findings from this survey. First, when asked about the 27 programs of the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta under the leadership of Governor Anies Baswedan, there were 15 programs that received positive/good/satisfied ratings, namely programs with satisfaction above 60 percent. The fifteen programs include Taman Maju Bersama (RPTRA) with 84.2 percent, Street Lighting (81.9 percent), Jakarta Healthy Card (KJS) Plus (80.3 percent), Waste Management (77 percent), Road Maintenance (76.2 percent), JakLingko (75 percent), Clean Water Program (73.8 percent), Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus (73.5 percent), LRT Development and Operation (73.4 percent), Jakarta Development International Stadium/JIS (71.6 percent), Revitalization of Taman Ismail Marzuki/TIM (68.5 percent), Urban Village Arrangement (68 percent), Revitalization of Low Emission Buildings/Schools (65.5 percent), Tourism Program (61, 7 percent), and Development of Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) in Sunter (61 percent).
There were 12 programs that received negative/poor/dissatisfied ratings, namely programs with satisfaction below 60 percent. The twelve programs include Flood Handling (58.7 percent), Construction of a Beach Safety Embankment (57.7 percent), Addition of 8 Flats development locations (57.1 percent), Construction of Benyamin Sueb Park (55.8 percent), Naturalization River (55 percent), Arrangement of PKL Tanah Abang (55 percent), Improvement of Port Facilities (53.9 percent), Infiltration Wells (53.2 percent), JakPreneur/OK-OCE (45.5 percent), North Jakarta Beach Reclamation (42.7 percent), Implementation of Formula E (42.7 percent), and DP House 0 (33.3 percent).
Given the many positive/good/satisfied reviews of existing programs, this has resulted in a high level of satisfaction with the leadership of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria. The results show that the average satisfaction slightly increased compared to the previous survey. In this survey, the average satisfaction was at 7.66 (scale 1-10) with an accumulated score of 6-10 (positive/satisfied) of 83.5 percent and an accumulated score of 1-5 (negative/dissatisfied) of 15. 8 percent.
Second, there were 34.4 percent of the public who did not believe that the implementation of Formula E could stimulate the economy of the people of DKI Jakarta, while 52.4 percent believed that the event would have an economic effect on society at large. As for 11.8 percent of the people said they did not know about the issue, and the remaining 1.4 percent refused to answer.
Third, with regard to the issue of Formula E corruption, the people of Jakarta are relatively divided, with 22.8 percent of the public considering that there was an element of corruption in the Formula E case, while 28.7 percent thought there was no corruption. Meanwhile, 44.2 percent did not know about the issue, and 4.3 percent refused to answer.
The general public also does not believe that Anies Baswedan is involved in Formula E corruption. When people were asked whether they believed or did not believe that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan was involved in the Formula E corruption case, there were only 14.3 percent of the public who believed that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan was involved in the Formula E corruption case. the Formula E corruption case. The majority of the public (48.7 percent) believed that Anies Baswedan was involved in the Formula E corruption case. 33.7 percent of the public did not know about the issue, and 3.3 percent of respondents refused to answer.
Fourth, related to the problem of economic inequality in DKI Jakarta, the majority of respondents (74.7 percent) considered that there was still economic inequality between the rich and poor in DKI Jakarta (30.2 percent very unequal, 44.5 percent lame), while it was 20 .5 percent assessed that there was no inequality (17.3 percent no inequality, 3.2 percent absolutely no inequality).
Fifth, related to economic issues, the majority of people answered controlling the price of basic commodities (40 percent) as the problem that needed to be handled most by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta, followed by providing jobs (21.7 percent), poverty alleviation (17.2 percent), handling economic inequality (10.3 percent), as well as empowering and assisting MSMEs (7.2 percent).
Sixth, with regard to the future leadership of DKI Jakarta, of the 24 figures asked separately (closed questions), Ridwan Kamil's name received the highest support to run as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in 2024 with 69.7 percent. Followed by Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno (67.7 percent), Anies Baswedan (66.2 percent), and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (55 percent). The other names get support below 50 percent.
Seventh, if the legislative elections are held today, there will be 8 parties that get an electability percentage of 4 (four) percent or more, namely PDIP with 18.3 percent, followed by PKS (14.7 percent), Gerindra (12.8 percent), Democrat (8.7 percent), Golkar (6.7 percent), Nasdem (5.2 percent), PKB (5 percent), and PPP (4.7 percent). Other parties get percentages below 3 percent. Meanwhile, 16.4 percent of respondents answered that they did not know/did not answer.
In general, in the five years of Anies Baswedan's administration, the level of satisfaction with Anies Baswedan's leadership was relatively high, this can be seen from the community's satisfaction in 15 of the 27 programs mentioned. Even so, there are still a number of crucial problems such as flood management.
The current survey shows that Heru Budi Hartono as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta still has a number of major works to complete, starting from controlling the prices of basic commodities, providing jobs, alleviating poverty, handling economic inequality, as well as empowering and assisting MSMEs. In addition, there are also issues that received low satisfaction in the previous administration, such as the Rupiah DP0 Program, Jakarta North Coast Reclamation, Implementation of Formula E, JakPreneur/OK-OCE, and the Infiltration Wells Program, which need special attention by Acting. Governor of DKI Jakarta.
Regarding the future future leadership of DKI Jakarta, there are a number of figures who will receive great support if they run as Governor of DKI Jakarta, namely West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, former Deputy Governor of DKI who is now Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, and General Chair of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
